FALL is Proof that Change is Beautiful

Hey, Reader!

I’m that girl who gets so excited with every changing season that if you name it, I have a storage box and a wreath ready for each holiday that comes with it. Call me extra, but that’s how I roll.

Decorating for each season energizes me. The thought ignites my creative juices and before you know it, the entire interior and exterior of the house is covered in leaves, pumpkins, snowmen, hearts, bunnies, or {insert obligatory seasonal typical detail here.}

With Fall, the season always seems to hit a little differently. While walking through our neighborhood with sweet Josie (The Greatest Maltese of All Time), I find myself exhaling with the cool breeze and the crunch of bright, colorful leaves beneath my feet. Just a few breaths in, and I’m ready to flip our home and make it Fall-ready. 🌻🍂

Disclosure: Just in case you’re wondering, Pat supports my decorating insanity, and I’m grateful my seasonal-decor-passion in each season hasn’t jeopardized my marriage. 😊

Here’s the thing: with each new season, while imagining and feeling excitement of the decorative refresh to our homes (and wardrobes, let’s be honest), what if we were to consider our spiritual seasons as a decorative refresh on our souls that is being orchestrated by our sovereign and almighty Creator?

I know, I know, when we’re in the middle (or cusp) of a circumstance, it’s hard to see the positive of where God is leading us, but I’m here to remind you today that you are not sitting on an island forgotten like Tom Hanks in Cast Away. YOU, my love, are and have always been a chosen child of the Creator of our Universe. The King of Kings. The Lord of Lords. Our Almighty God. The ONE that knew you, molded you, created you, and established your gifts even before you were born (Jeremiah 1:5).

One of my favorite passages that I keep going back to is Psalm 139:13-16

"For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place, when I was woven together in the depths of the earth. Your eyes saw my unformed body; all the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be."

Let that sink in. Because it’s a personal message. It’s a message between you and God. 🤔

Yes, of course, it’s meant for me too. But in the event that you needed a reminder today, allow me to affirm: No matter the season, you are not alone. You are chosen. You are loved. You are His. You are a child of the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords. If the burden is on your heart, it matters to Him. Seek Him, talk to Him, He’s waiting. He’s never left.

So, friend, the next time you step outside and hear the crunch of leaves or feel that crisp breeze on your face, take it in. Fall is God’s little nudge reminding us that change doesn’t have to be something we dread. Just like those leaves, sometimes we have to let go so He can create something even more breathtaking in us.

Fall is proof that change is beautiful 🍂—not because it’s easy, but because it’s orchestrated by the One who makes all things new. And if He can turn an ordinary tree into a masterpiece of color, imagine what He’s doing in you. 🍂

P.S. Can you tell I just learned how to grab emojis from a Windows keyboard?)😂 It's Windows + .
