Stop Fighting for Balance — Start Resting in Him
Hey Reader,
If you’re fighting for a balanced life, you’re fighting for the wrong thing.
Why? Because balance doesn’t exist.
It’s an illusion the world sold us—and we bought it. A façade that says a balanced life equals a successful life. A fairytale that promises a calm, stress-free, happy ending. But life doesn’t work like that.
Each of our lives—and the seasons we’re in—look completely different. Some of us are raising children (or teenagers 😧), sustaining a marriage, caring for loved ones (or praying for those we love who are struggling), managing careers, juggling school assignments, serving in church, volunteering, launching businesses or, {insert role or obligation here}.
In reality, life is not something we balance. It’s something we surrender.
Because the truth is: that perfect balance we’re chasing? It will never be found. A successful life isn’t about keeping every plate spinning—it’s about knowing Who gives you the strength to carry them in the first place.
When Jesus is your source—your center—He brings peace in the chaos. He brings peace in the imbalance.
“
“I have told you all this so that you may have peace in me. Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world.” —
John 16:33 (NLT)
Rather than fighting for balance, we need to focus on fighting to experience more of Him—the One who gives purpose and significance to every season. We need to fight for the peace and joy only He can offer.
Spiritual warfare is real. Each day, we have to pray, apply His Word, and ask for the knowledge, wisdom, and discernment to walk through our many obligations with grace and confidence in Him.
Never forget: God is with you. God is for you. True balance isn’t found in schedules or structure—it’s found in surrendering to the One who holds it all together.
In Love and Christ,
Dorene Elizabeth
🙏 Closing Prayer
Heavenly Father, Thank You for reminding me that balance isn’t the goal—You are. Help me stop striving for perfection and start resting in Your presence. When life feels chaotic or uncertain, anchor my heart in Your peace. Teach me to surrender every part of my day to You and trust that You are working all things for good. In Jesus’ name, amen.
📖 Scripture of the Week
“
“Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank Him for all He has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.” — Philippians 4:6–7 (NLT)
💡 Tip of the Week
Instead of aiming for balance, aim for alignment. Each morning, pray: “Lord, align my priorities with Your will today.” Then release the rest. Watch how peace follows alignment, not balance.
